Communicating and socialising effectively is an integral part of children’s development. So how do we best support this area of development? By observing the filmed sequences you can develop your observation skills, deepen your thinking and increase your knowledge of this important area of development.
With this study you will observe rich examples of communication that focus on: non verbal communication, differing developmental stages (with twins), 3 word sentences, leadership, cooperation, withdrawal, conflict and more. The sequences especially highlight how communication is at the heart of healthy social and emotional development.
The sequences are arranged chronologically by age from 15 months to 6.5 years. The age range enables you to observe and assess the developmental stages of language and communication skills throughout the early years. This enables confidence and insight on how your planning really supports a child’s development of these skills.
